Embellished Monogramed Frame

I wanted a little decoration in a corner of my little girls room I thought it would be cute to have a monogramed frame so that is what I set out to make.

I started with a frame from Dollar Tree, a little doily, a cheap plastic necklace and some scrap fabric.

To start I painted the frame a shade of white.

Cut out a piece of cardstock to fit in the frame.

Cut a piece of the fabric about a half inch bigger on each side of the cardstock.

Cut the corners off like so...and glued each side down.

Cut the doily in half.

Glued one half of the doily to the fabric covered cardstock.

Put the frame back together without the glass.

Spray painted the necklace blue with plastic spray paint and let it dry.

Cut a couple pieces of the necklace and glued the in the shape of her initial.

Glued some of the leftover doily to the corner and trimed it.

Embellished the frame with parts of the leftover necklace and some fabric flowers made from the leftover fabric. It added the right touch to her little space in her corner. What do you think???

That is so cute. If I made my boys something like this they would... I don't know... eat it or use it to drive in a nail... decor is lost on young men. LOL

Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. I love the title of your blog - me making do - because it's something I think to myself when crafting.

Love your style and creativity :-)

Very pretty--I love that you used the beads on only 2 sides of the frame. Thanks for linking up!
