Three Little Birdies

I just love how my three little birdies turned out! You want to make a set?

Here is what I started out with...I started out by cutting out three bird shapes on a scrap piece of pine, I had these I think they are moulding squares? You could just use scrap pine again in square shapes, dowels and a scrap piece of bead board. You will also need paint, spanish moss, a scrap piece of fabric a glue gun a drill with a bit the size of your dowel, and some of the flowers I have the tutorial for in a smaller size. I did mine out of newpaper this time. The print shows through just a bit adding some texture.

Drill a hole in the square pieces in the middle, and in two of the birds on the bottom.

Cut one of your dowels a few inches shorter than the other. The different hights is more pleasing to the eye.

Glue your dowels into the hole on the squares using your glue gun, then the birds on top of the dowel.

Piant everything black or any color you want to be the undercolor on the birds.

Add a little blue or again any color you want.

Then a coat of white paint or ya sorry for repeating myself but any color you want.

Then I ended up painting another coat of black on the bead board  leaving the lines blue. Then sand everything lightly to bring out the colors underneath.

Added hot glue in a circle on the bottom around the dowel on both squares.

Glued the spanish moss, then hot glued a flower on.

Added Glue to the middle of the bead board and glued on the last bird.

Added glue in a nest shape around the bottom of the bird and added moss to it, and add a flower to that.

Your scrap piece of fabric will be the hanger on the bead board so cut it the length you want the width is about an inch. I just tore the edges to give it a cute little edge.

Add  glue to the top back side of the bead board about an inch and a half from each edge.

Glue your piece of fabric to each side.

You now have your three little birdies to enjoy! And ya the song came to mind when I put that as the title. Let me know if you make one I would love to see what any one makes from my tutorials!!!!
