The Apple doesn't fall far from the Tree

I remember when I was little my mom asking me "Heather did you write your name on the stove"?  No, I replied "It was Sara". Sara was my little cousin my mom was babysitting at the time so it sounded good to me. I was in preschool and just learned to write my name. "Why on earth would Sara write your name"? "I don't know"!
I couldn't get a great picture but I was just dusting my coffee table when I noticed it was etched with these letters "Taelyn" Tae is not here right now, she is at her dad's but I can't wait to ask her why she etched her name in my coffee table. Maybe she will say it was Dayton! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this and it brought back the memory of my mom asking me, "Why did you write your name on the stove'? And all of the etching's that myself and my sister would do in my mom's kitchen chair's. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it?

There are so many things my children do that cause me to have to fuss at them....either during or after the "fuss" session I remember my mother fussing at me for the same EXACT thing! You are very correct....the apples do not fall far from the tree!!

My sister did that to me when I was younger. Carved MY name in the mantle with a pin. Parents made me write my name with a pen and it matched. Too bad they didn't realize I was too uncoordinated with a pen (I was 5) that writing with a pin would have been impossible and illegible. She confessed years later, but I remember getting the book thrown at me!

My dad uses that same expression but I keep telling him the apple didn't fall of the tree. It's still very much attached!
