Sneak Peek

Just a little sneak peak at what I've been up to

So This is what my kitchen has looked like the last few years. I had painted my awful  I think they were particle board cabinets red. And have been wanting to replace the ugly ugly countertops but haven't been able to. Well the other day while cleaning my kitchen I just got sick of it and couldn't stand it any more. I grabbed paint that I had left over from other projects and just started painting away! I am LOVING how it is turning out!

Oh I love it so much! I took and routered lines in the cabinet door's also to look like beadboard. It looks so much better already but I still have most of the kitchen to do.

I love paint it is so amazing how it can transfom things!
What do you think?

I better get busy I have so much more to get done. I don't know how many crafts I will get done this week if any but I will post more pictures of my kitchen as I go. I hope you all are having a great week!

are those counter tops painted, too?! if so, WOW. you have made quite the impact with updated colors. love the white on the cabinets, but wow, that must be a lot of work. looks like it will pay off, though!! good luck with the rest!

Painting my kitchen cabinets white was the most important thing I've done in my house so far... such a huge transformation! Yours is already showing the 'greatness' of this transformation! Have fun with the remaining cabinets.. you will love yourself for doing it!

How stinking cool is that! You really took your cabinets from dated to devine. Please please please tell us how you did the counters, they look awesome!

I can't wait to hear how you did those counters. I have the world's ugliest counters and would love to try this.

Excellent transformation and inexpensive, too. Sometimes you just have to go for it!

Looks great! I had red cabinets and wood counters for a while too--until we went to white cabinets (but with black counters!!) great minds think alike!! :0)
Hard to believe that's just paint!

Looks like you're doing a great job there :) I can only imagine how much work must be involved.. Have you thought about painting/doing something about the back splash as well or is that just giving you too much work all at once? :) The kitchen looks great right now but you can make it look even better with a little something on the back splash as well. I know, I know, I should go work on my own projects instead of giving you more to do :) The white looks great!

Thanks for all the kind comments! I am thinking about a backsplash too but am not quite sure what to do yet...any cheap ideas????

Wow! You are a brave woman. Everytime I think I'm just gonna pick up a paintbrush and go for it, I end up stopping myself out of fear. Good for you! It turned out great!

I think it is a great idea, and it looks great!
I just finished painting my old kitchen cabinets too, and I am very happy with them.
Good luck with the rest of them.
if you are interested on checking out how mine turned out:

for the backsplash I have seen some people using the beaded or texture wallpaper painted in various colors...I am not sure how easily one could clean it....I am a messy cook!

This looks AWESOME! I am pretty sick of my cabinets and counter tops, perhaps this will be an idea I can pull off. Thanks for posting!
