Guest Post Angie From The Country Chic Cottage

Have you entered:

Hello!!  My name is Angie with The Country Chic Cottage.  I am so excited to be here on Me Making Do!  :)  I feel like it is too early to think about Christmas...but it is sooo much closer than we all think!  So do y'all want to make a unique, one of a kind, and maybe even SPECIAL ornament??  Check out my Baby Shoe Ornament....

Too cute for words!!  :)  Now wanna know how to make it??  I think to make this EXTRA special....go dig out your daughter's or granddaughter's old baby shoes...this tutorial will be waiting for you when you get back!  Or if you have all boys...use their baby shoes.  When all else fails, head to the thrift store!  :)

The first thing I did was stamp "noel" on the bottom.

Now isn't that cute??

Then I wanted to dress up the inside so I got a dictionary page and some mod podge.  I got the page that contained the word "noel" -- cause I love when things tie together like that!!  I love vintage dictionary pages...but you can use any type of paper ephemera you love.  Sheet music, maps, etc.  Check out my etsy shop if you are looking for paper ephemera!

I used the outside of the shoe to cut out my page.  The bottom and both sides.  Then mod podged them on the inside of my little shoe.

Somehow you are going to have to get a hole in the shoe.  I have a cropadile and that thing will punch a hole in just about ANYTHING.  You can use an ice pick or something else sharp in a pinch.

I cut out the two entries for noel on my dictionary page and mod podged them inside of my shoe.  Ties it all together you know!  LOVE that...

I just ran some ribbon through my hole and tied it off.  This is so easy and would be so meaningful made with your child's shoes.  Gorgeous and one day when they are off to college it will make you cry....

**sniff** Trust me I have a Junior...this will make me cry one day....hunt up those shoes and get to crafting girls!

Y'all be sure to stop by and see some of my other projects.  You don't want to miss my NO SEW Sweater Sleeve Pumpkins!

Even a Ballard Knock Off!

Many thanks to Heather for asking me to join in the fun this week!  Y'all stop on by the cottage, take your shoes off, and stay a while!
