You're so Very Creative & Features

So I am finally getting around to features from last weeks party so I thought I would combine the features from last week and this weeks party all in one! Thanksgiving was fun and busy. My dad got to come home for the day from the rehabilitation center where he is staying. It was nice to have him home, but I think we totally wore him out!!! He was ready to go back much sooner then he thought that he would.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

Making Memories With Your Kids made these yummy looking Salted Caramel Butter Bars they look really good I will have to try them some day when the Thanksgiving pies have wore off!

What a fun way to package a gift Clean & Scentsible made Paint Can Packages from new paint can's what a cute idea!

Flamingo Toes made these darling Christmas Candy Jar Labels she has the tutorial and the print out on her blog if you want to make some.

Cup of Delight made this Dry Erase Meal Board. I definitely need to make one of these. I jot mine down on a piece of paper and half the time it somehow gets thrown away and then I don't know what I was supposed to make. This is a much cuter and neater way to do it!

Polka Dots and Pizza $10 Dresser Makeover. Isn't it cute? I love sheet music on things. I actually redid a piece of my furniture recently and used sheet music also. I will have to post a picture now. I love how her dresser turned out!

Wild Flowers & Whimsy made this adorable Petti Tutu and has the Tutorial I can't wait to make one for my daughter she would love it!

These Hair bows are so cute I have always wanted to make some like this but never have. Hailey's HeArtwork shows how to make them so maybe I will finally get some done!

Ballard Knockoff Burlap Bird Ornament

In case you missed this when I did a guest post at Country Chic Cottage
Here it is....

I am sure you have all heard of Ballard designs well I fell in love with their Burlap Bird Ornaments and thought that I would try my hand at recreating them so here is my version.

Ballard Knockoff Burlap Bird Ornament

Want to make one or a bunch of them?

Here is what you will need:

  • Burlap Fabric
  • Heat and Bond
  • Poly fill
  • Black Seed Beads
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Small Craft Paint Brush
  • Glue Gun and Glue
  • Floral Wire
  • Jute Twine
  • Needle and Thread
  • Sewing Machine (optional)
Wow quite the list it didn't seem like that much when I was making it lol!

To start I  just cut a couple squares of burlap and a couple squares of heat and bond a little bigger than my bird .

Iron your heat and bond to your burlap, trace your bird to one of your heat and bond sides of your burlap heat and bond squares.

Sandwich your two squares of burlap together burlap sides facing each other heat and bond sides facing out.

Cut around the bird leaving a seam allowance for sewing.  Sew around the bird leaving a hole in the bottom where I have marked where the two pins are so you can turn to the right side for stuffing making sure to back stitch at the pins.

Stuff your bird with Poly fill.

Sew the hole closed.

With Floral Wire Make a shape  for the tail feather. I forgot to take a picture but the you will wrap twine tightly around the wire you will have to glue with hot glue to hold in place after a few wraps then continue wrapping.  Leave the long piece unwrapped.

Wrap Several times around all three feathers when you get them all wrapped and glue the end piece of twine down.

Poke in the end of the bird and glue in place with hot glue.

Do the same with the wing pieces but they will only have two loops.

Glue in place on each side of the bird.

Swirl  jute in your fingers

Glue on the wing piece add glue and add more swirls around keep a long piece of jute to add swirl to other wing on other side of bird.

Bring your jute over the beak.

Add your swirl around starting from your outer swirl in this time.

Glue on your seed beads, and paint the beak.

Make a loop of jute and tie the end.

Glue in place on your bird.

And enjoy your Burlap Bird Ornament!!!!

Featuring You Friday

Wow what a crazy roller coaster of a week it has been! I don't know why the Dr. at the hospital told us that my dad could only have one last transfusion but apparently that wasn't the case. We had a meeting with his Oncologist and he told us that he would continue transfusions as long as the could find matching blood. It is getting harder and harder but there is still some out there. My dad is doing so much better and walking a little with a walker, it's great! I guess he had a bad infection from his low immune from the chemo. I don't know yet if he will continue the chemo since it won't get rid of his disease. For now he is just happy to be doing better and to be able  to get up on his own and hopefully be back home soon. Thanks for all the prayers, they work!!!!

Featuring You

First off thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts and prayers for my dad and my family! Today has been a good day for my dad he has been coherent today. We sat and had a good talk and it was nice. I know we won't have a whole lot more of these and so I really treasure these moments. It really makes me wish I had treasured them more before it is so easy to take every thing we have for granted thinking that things will always be the way they are. It's so easy to hurry through each day not taking the time for the little things that really are the most meaningful. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for all of your kind words!
