Cute Crafts to Make for the Kids

This week has been so crazy, I haven't been home long enough to get anything done. Especially for my blog, so sorry the posts have been lacking. I'm afraid I may have to much of this for May. The kids have so much going on with the last month of school.

Happy Easter

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday. I am so thankful for my Savior and the meaning that Easter has for me. Yesterday I attended a sweet cousins funeral, she is younger than I am and has two small children. She loved being a mother and was the best mother.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was the kindest person always taking care of everyone. I hope I can be an example like she was, being more Christ like.  Easter and the meaning of it this year is even more special to me. I know that she is in a better place and she is at peace now.  I am so thankful for my Savior and for the opportunity we will have to be with our loved ones once again.

Felt & Fabric Flowers

Sorry I didn't do a Crafting with My Kids post yesterday, I have had sick kiddo's this week so they weren't much up to it.

 

 

Here is the Felt Flowers tutorial that I showed on Bella Before and After a few weeks ago for any of you that missed it.

 

Want to make one or all of them? Let's get started!

Supplies

• Pattern
• Hot Glue
• Felt (I just used scraps)
• Fabric (again just scraps)
• scissors
• Sewing Machine (optional)

For this hair flower you will also need an alligator clip, or you could glue it to a headband.

Layer your fabric on top of your felt sew or glue together.

Add glue to the back of felt and pinch together.

You should now have a funky looking flower.

Turn over and add hot glue to the back of one of the petals and glue on your leaf.

Looking cuter!

Glue a small piece of felt to your alligator clip and glue to the back of your flower.

Clip it in your princesses hair!

For the roses you will need a dowel.

For the orange rose just glue your petals with the point down.

Enjoy all your flowers!

Trying Your Tute - Book Page Eggs

I don't know where I first saw these done so I don't know who exactly to attribute these to. I will show you a few around the web that I have found.

One of my eggs got stepped on and cracked so I just took out the plastic egg and added a pom pom chick I made.

There are ton's of these all around blog land and I really don't remember where I saw them first, but I love them.

I started out making mine the Modge Podge way like everyone else, but it was quite gross to me having all that modge podge gooey gunk all over. I thought there must be a easier and less messy way!

So I got out my glue stick and added glue to one side of the torn page.

Added the pieces to the plastic egg, and it worked!

Not only is it less messy but the strips lay flatter. You could probably add modge podge to the outside or spray it with sealer to have the shiny appearance. I liked the flat look of just the book page so I left mine and just tied a piece of twine around them.

Then I crocheted  a little nest to put them in.

Thankful Sunday - Nice Weather

I am so thankful for warmer weather! Yesterday was a beautiful day, the kids were able to play outside most of the day. We didn't think about sun block so we have some sunburns but nothing too bad. It was great to have a day that was so nice. Today is windy and yucky outside. But I am sure thankful for those nice days and can't wait for many more.
