Buttermilk Pancakes

I thought I would share my families favorite pancake recipe with you all today.

Buttermilk Pancakes (with chocolate chips of course)

1 egg
2 Tbsp. oil
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk (I use 1 TBS. vinegar and fill measuring cup to 1 C. with milk, I never have buttermilk).
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp.salt

Beat egg; add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour batter onto hot griddle. Turn pancakes as soon as they are puffed and full of bubbles, but before bubbles break.

I pour 1/4 of batter for each pancake. My family loves chocolate chips in them so we just sprinkle a few on top after pouring the batter on the griddle. I have tried just pouring them in the batter and I think it ends up way to chocolaty for me and I'm a chocoholic.

Enjoy with syrup and a glass of milk!

I'm at the Beach Bash at Country Chic Cottage

Butterfly Outfit

So I barely skimmed by this last week on So You Think You're Crafty.  The voting is up for the second week, so make sure to check it out. Hopefully I will do better this week.

Also I will be participating in the Beach Bash over at Country Chic Cottage.(I will let you know when my tutorial is up). There will be all kinds of guest posts Starting today and going through July 20th you will definitely want to be checking this advent out.

Here was my craft from last weeks vote.

What little girl doesn't love butterflies? Chasing and trying to catch them. There is something magical about butterflies, so why not an outfit inspired by those fun filled butterfly chasing day's?

The Butterfly Outfit

What little girl wouldn't love this outfit?

The shirt I bought then sewed on butterflies cut from felt and singed on the ends.

And then the shorts I made by changing up this tutorial on Grosgrain by Elsie Marley. On the ties I shaped the ends in the shape of half a butterfly, and mine are fully lined on the inside.

I didn't take pictures as I went but if anyone would like more of a tutorial I will be glad to make one.

Heartbreaking

I'm sure that alot of you have hear of the Wallow Fire in Arizona. This is about an hour away from where I live. They have estimated it at 389,000. It's zero percent contained. The winds here have been awful and have not helped with the firefighting efforts. Many people in several towns have been evacuated from their homes. Places we have spent alot of time at and have fond memories may or may not be there any more. It's heartbreaking. I feel so bad for those who have lost homes or are having to worry whether they have a home to go back to or not. Today is a beautiful day the wind is down and everyone is praying that they can get a handle on the fire.

Simple Dress to Skirt Refashion

My sister gave me some clothes for my daughter and in the stash was a dress that was a little out of date.

I liked the print and thought it would be cute as a skirt. So I cut off the top and sewed a casing and added elastic.

Much better, a cute skirt. This took no time at all, fifteen minutes probably. If the wind wasn't blowing so much we could have got better pictures but oh well.

Start looking at all those outdated dresses they are perfect for turning into cute skirts!

I didn't do a tutorial as I went because it was so simple, but if you need help on doing a casing use Dana's from her skirt tutorial. The skirt is already done so that is all you will need to do.

You're So Very Creative (Link-Up)

This past week I decided I would go through each link up and comment on each one. I became frustrated easily when I wasn't able to comment on very many, so I'm sorry if I didn't comment on your link. I don't know what is going on but there were several where I tried to leave a comment several times and it wouldn't let me no matter how I tried. So frustrating!!!

This week we have one link that is had the top views

Outdoor Ideas

We have been working out in the yard today getting the garden ready and trying to plant some flowers in our lovely wind.

I made some Hypertufa Pots like these from Martha Stewart.

I love the look of them, I hope mine turn out!

I love being outside and working in the yard, I really prefer it to inside but don't seem to get out there that often. There are so many things I would love to do around the outside to make things look nicer.

Check out these cool projects that are linked up to the party this week...

I love these simple Window Boxes from Rob's World. I would love to have some of these.

This French Bistro Set  that Cedar Hill's Ranch made over with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is so pretty.

Cherished Treasures Restyled their deck and it looks great!

I love Sassy Sites Summertime Retreat! I have a similar patio I wish mine looked like her makeover!

Wow, my list for things I want to do outside has grown, I better get busy!

Great job ladies thanks for linking up these great ideas.
