Happy Circles Headband

**** UPDATED 4/16/2014 ****
**** Sorry for any confusion on this pattern I have updated it and all should be correct now. Let me know if you run into any more errors so that I may fix them.****

Sorry I have been missing I have not been feeling good but am better now!
I have a pin on pinterest of a crochet Happy Circles Table Runner I thought it would make a cute headband. I did it a little different than the Table Runner pattern. But have a tutorial with pattern for you all!

Here is what you need if you would like to make one.

Worsted Weight Yarn
I (5.50 MM) Crochet hook
yarn needle for weaving in the yarn
scissors
Ribbon (Optional)

Crochet Stitch Abbreviations used
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet

Ch 34

dc in 4th ch from hook.

5 dc in same st.

skip 2 ch's, sl st in next ch

Skip 2 ch's, *work 6 dc in next chain, skip 2 ch's,  sl st in next ch* Repeat from * to * to the last three ch's,

work 12 dc in last ch.

working on opposite side of chain now sl st in each sl, st space and 6 dc in each 6dc space from previous side.

Join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Add a ch of 50 (make this longer or as needed) fasten off. This will be the one of the ties for the headband.

Join yarn in a middle dc from the other end of the headband and again ch 50 or the amount needed for the other side of the tie.

Your done! If you would like you can weave in ribbon or leave it without, it's just as cute!

If you run into to any errors please let me know or email me with any questions or leave it in the comment section!

I would love to see if you make any!

I have made a new flicker group where you can share anything you have made from any of my tutorials! YOU Making Do you can just click on the flicker icon on my sidebar, it will take you to the group page! Make sure to add anything you make or anything that you have already made. I would love to see them and feature some occasionally on here.

Don't forget to check out the Parties I link to!
If you have a party you would like added to the list I would love to add it!

I am trying to make this.. I have done it a few times and ripped out. When you make yours does it twist?

Heather Perkins said...

@Jennahrancour I'm sorry your having trouble. Mine haven't really twisted. Make sure to crochet your starting chain loosely and maybe this will help. Having to tight of a starting chain would probably be the reason you are having the twisting. Hope this helps!!!

I am finding this very difficult to do, does not matter how loosely I crochet it's is still curling :(

Heather Perkins said...

Thanks Anna for letting me know. I have gone through the pattern to make sure there were no errors with it as I made this a few years ago. I found several mistakes on my part and have edited the pattern and hopefully all is correct now. The mistakes would have made your work curl. It should work out well for you now. let me know if you have any more problems. Sorry about that!

I am completely new to crocheting, but am fast falling in love with it! I absolutely love this pattern as it combines 2 of my passions, crocheting and ribbons! I have been searching for patterns that combine the 2 and am so happy I came across this!
